As a journalist and content creator, I have come across so many impressive talents during my career and it always excites me to feature design industry leaders here on The Diary of an Improvateur.
I’ve had the pleasure of featuring Carmen Natschke’s summer reading list, for example—an awe-inspiring number of books she made her way through in a few months. I’ve seen my fair share of furniture debuts, interviewing the talented minds who envisioned the collections. Among these is Barry Dixon, whose furniture for Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth and charming Magnolia Pod pendant debuted during Spring High Point Market in 2014.
Currey & Company is a manufacturer continually releasing terrific products by the design team there. One launch that had an extra dose of pedigree was Edward Wormley’s upholstery. The mid-century modern designer is one of the unsung heroes of modern design in my book. Cecil Adams is the vice present of creative for the company, and he is definitely one of the design industry leaders to watch.
